Hello All,

I've got a server running Windows SBS 2008 R2 running a domain and a number of common data shares for invoices etc. I've got a FreeNAS server which I would like to backup the files for the server too, as well as a good cloud solution.

What would you recommend to backup the NAS? As the built in backup tool does not allow a backup to be made to a network drive.

Many Thanks

You can usually fool it into backing up to a network drive by using a mapped drive, have you tried that?

swinnie, could you confirm the version you're using please? Do you mean SBS 2011, which is based on Server 2008 R2? The reason I ask is that the Windows Server Backup application in SBS 2008 and in Server 2008 R2 both allow you to select a remote shared folder as the destination for your backup.

The backup options as displayed in the SBS Console will only allow local drives to be selected as backup targets.

If you access the underlying backup softaware via 'Start->Administrative Tools->Windows Server Backup' network targets can be selected.

Brilliant - thank you!

And to the above, it's SBS 2008 R2.
