Hi all

Looking to build a media server and wanted a good case that can hold a few harddrives and keep them cool.

I looked at the fractal xl but seems not to be very good at cooling. Just wanted somthing that is decent build quality for around about £130ish.

Any suggestions.

Cheers.

Number of drives?
Motherboard form factor?
Preferred overall size?
Noise level?

Hard drive cooling isn't that critical (unless you're talking 10K/15K SCSI/SAS). As long as there's some air moving that should be good enough.

If You want to build a server, not a htpc, why not try to buy some rack server case? I have TX150 S2 and it is great, available for about 30-40£ ( calculated from prices of these cases in Poland )

Best regards

Thanks.

Well I have a pc with 6 drives in it now so prob would want at least 12 drive bays min as 6 would be took up.

I am stripping out my htpc and putting it into a bigger case as I am also building a tiny htpc in a much smaller care so all I need is a new case as I have all the other parts from my other pc.

Not to botherd in size just want somthing that is easy to install and remove drives from. The motherboard is a asus m version if I remember. It's only a year old and uses the sandybridge chip.

Also want good anti vibration as that may drives might cause some problems or maybe not as not to sure how much vibration would cause any problems.

Cheers
