This might seem like an odd request but I need some help and google turns up "FAIL".

I am running 2008 R2 Server Core on a desktop purely so I can hyper V loads of VMs. I need to enable the wireless feature but I can't figure out how to do it.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

In the server management console you need to go into "add features" and enable the Wireless LAN service. I've only used vanilla 2008 though so I'm not 100% sure you'll be able to do this in server core.

Server Core doesn't have a GUI so that would be hard.

TBH, I'm not sure if this is possible. What do you want to do exactly?

Sorry,it might help if I was more exact. I'm doing this on a laptop, not desktop.

I was able to enable the WLAN in Server 2008 R2 easily enough using the add features command, but I do need to do this with Server Core too.

Purely because, server core has such a small disk and memory footprint that I can then run multiple VMs and they can all use the wireless adapter.
