Hi,
I hope to setup a computer that will act as a host for some live webcasting using wowza. The number of clients connecting to the live webcasts will be very small, less than 10 at any time and the webcast stream bandwidth will be approximately 700kb. There will be no recording required and no video on demand from archived files. My ISP upload is around 16mb.
Will a normal PC loaded with Windows 7 and Wowza be OK if this is the only work required from this PC? Or, do I need a more specialised "server" type of hardware and operating system. I have a Hex Core Xeon CPU and X58 (1366) board that I can use to build the machine, would this be up to spec?
I do not wish to lease hosting or a CDN, I hope to be able to keep it all in house.
Thx for any advice.
