I've taken a server from the office home to do some maintenance on it. During the maintenance I've noticed that some of the drivers needed updating so I took it into the living room and plugged it into the network.

When I boot the machine, it reboots as soon as Windows has loaded...the problem vanish when I unplug the network cable...the problem persists in both network ports.

I'm going to swap the network cable to rule that out after work today, but if that's not the cause. What could the cause be?

I replaced the Network card and everything works fine and dandy.

I'll try the network card in an old pc and see if it's a hardware fault, if not I'm putting it down to the drivers.
