Right ive taken the plundge at last.

Gone for as cheap as possible total came to around £180 for everything.

Its designed to sit behinnd the TV on the network be a file server and media player to the TV and surround sound.

Well Vista sucks doesnt it:D

So that leaves Win7 or 8 as choices I guess. im not sure how well server2008 is at playback or codec support etc.

yeh i know vista was just in there as I have a licence for it.

Will have to look into server 2008 and how good it is at that will also check what licence i can get
