Hi all,

After a motherboard to host a AMD X2 3600+, 2gb RAM and 2 x 500GB HDD in RAID 1. The machine will basically be a file server for 3 pcs. Will be running windows server 2003 for 180 days (trial version - for me to play :)) then i will be using XP Pro. As cheap as you can get it. Also whats the minimum power requirements of this system? Would a 300w power supply do it?

Thanks.
Arron.

I'd say that that PSU would be sufficient. What socket is the CPU? AM2? 939? ANy desktop ATX or mATX 'board with windows RAID would do nicely. A mATX 'board with integrated graphics would simplify things.

Thanks for the replies. The processor is AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+ 2.00GHz so its an AM2 socket. Just looked at the AM2 mATX boards. I found this:

Looks good and has integrated graphics. NAS is something i could do when i need more space in the future. Budget is an issue at the mo. So a 300w power supply sounds ample.

Thanks again.
