Hi Guys,
Would having 2 network connections into my server increase speed any?

We are using an HP Procurve 1800 if that makes any difference

If the Procurve allows you to do teaming properly it's mean you'll have a 200Mb/s or 2Gb/s connection on the server instead of a 100Mb/1Gb.

As SupermotoMX points out, it'll do bugger all for you internet, but you transfers across the LAN will be quicker, or will support more simultanious connections.

However, the rest of the system needs to be up to par too to realise the increase.
If it's a proper server running a hardware RAID card it'll probably be fine.

Not worried about the Internet lads i understand that it wont do anything for it.

I am more worried about the Lan connection, we use it for video editing which means the network transfers large files all the time.

So if i add an extra gig card to the server, plug it into the procurve and setup teaming it will increase the network speed?

Assuming that every other machine/server on the network only has a single nic, then no you'll get no faster transfers, but you will be able to hold more simultaneous connections.

802.1ad link aggregation isn't that hot anyway.
