Does anyone know (other than ebay) where I can get a cheap 38 or 42U server rack (must be 1000mm deep)?

Orion will do you a new Value 42U 600 x 1000 for £380+VAT. They normally build to order so takes a week or so to arrive. Quality isn't bad but perhaps not as good as a Prism.

That means you miss out on the fun of having to strip a cabinet down just to get it upstairs...

I have been here before.... I was asked to move a periphonics IVR from the loading bay to the first floor. This thing weighed in at a little under 500Kg and wouldn't fit in the lift, so I had to empty the contents and strip it down, then found the sides wouldn't even fit in, so had to manually carry the whole lot up 3 flights of stairs.
