Hello.

Looking for a very cheep build. I need a bundle for under £100. All I need is motherboard ram CPU and heat sink have everything else.

The kit needs inboard graphics and be able to run 64bit of of windows home server 2011

Thanks for all the specs! Lots of food for thought.

Bearing in mind it's a back room rig that will have 6 2TB data drives in it And running windows home server 2011 graphics isn't important.

For this application what spec would best suit it? 10/100/1000 Ethernet is a must obviously but which spec would give me the fastest transfer speeds?

I have a sata card sitting in a draw at the moment so that's not a problem. Which of the specs would be fastest and best suited for what I need?

the rigg will be sitting in the utility room file serving with WHS2011.

I have this processor at the moment

http://ark.intel.com/products/27249/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E6400-2M-Cache-2_13-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB

I also have 2 sticks of 2GB RAM ... Corsair XMS2-6400 Main Memory DDR2 2 GB CL5 240 DIMM

The motherboard they use to be on only has 2 sata connections and my PCI sata card only has 2 and i need 6 in total so i just need a new motherboard if i can find one compatable with the RAM and CPU. Same budget

Would any of the mentioned motherboards be compatable?
The processor was £140 when i got it and seams a waste.

I'd be looking about £30 for the sata card.

Brilliant I will look into that board. Would it be comparable eth windows home server 2011? It's not listed, but it's not a mainstream os

Found it. I wouldn't have enough pci cards to add another one. I might go for the new motherboard and see how sorage goes.

Could I use an IDE hdd to install whs2011 on and that would free up a sata port for a storage drive...
