Hi guys,

Putting myself through some Microsoft server training and although I have some books and virtual training I wanted to get some hands on training too. I need to get a little box to install server on etc and was looking for some suggestions. I've seen there is a recommendation for the HP Proliant which looks decent. Would it fit my needs to just install server 2008 r2 on and be able to play around with it all?

Sorry I know that sounds dumb so try not to slate me too much. Thanks guys

Unless you need something dedicated I would suggest using virtualisation in the first instance, you can use that to get a feel for things and also to setup pretty sophisticated labs. Its going to be hardware dependant, failing that you could pick-up one of the HP Microservers for £80-90 to start with
