I'm looking for a cheap server with HDMI/DVI out to connect a 1080p HD monitor too. It seems the only way is to buy something like a 2nd hand Dell r900 for £400, then put a Nvidia GT 610 in. Anyone have any other ideas?

How powerful to you want the server to be? The Gen 8 Microservers have PCIe slots in them. You'd have a lot of change out of £400 also.

It would be nice to have a beefier processor, a multi-core near 3GHz and at least 16GB RAM. A plus would be reduntant PSUs too.

A Dell T20 has a Xeon 3Ghz, a PCIe 16x and a 290W PSU. No redundant PSU but possibly hard to beat for £210 after cashback.

You could always build your own. There some very nice small four or five bay cases from CFI; your choice of mini-ITX mobo and CPU. If you had your trust configured so you could access the members market I could offer you one I built earlier....

i dont understand what you mean, whats CFI?

Should be trying a Cisco UCS C240M4 with dual Nvidia K2 Grid cards with 768Gb memory per system. Not sure they qualify as cheap though............. :D

GPU's don't need 16x, 8x will work just fine. Even my when I moved my Titan X from 8x to 16x is made absolutely no difference in any benchmark.
