I was looking for a reall reliable NIC for a server

One like this looks promissing but any recomendatoins would help:

Anything made by Intel, or 3com = good. Don't know what chipset the HP is based on - looks like Intel. I've not seen a proliant ethernet card fail yet, and I run quite a few of them.

I've never actually known a NIC fail (everything else yes, NIC no)

maybe look at NIC teaming with dual switches, if it's that important.

using intel Pro 1000 MT desktop adapters in both my server and one of my main pc's
very fast especially when jumbo frames are set @ 9k

if u have a lot of pc's connecting to the server then a server adapter would be better but not essential

i had a gb NIC fail - it managed to corrupt about a months worth of torrents until i worked out what was going on
