The Fiesta ST is up for its 3 year service now in Jan and ringing around for quotes.

Local Ford dealer is £285, Ford dealer I bought from costs £170 and still waiting on one other quote.

Just was curious to know is there an official list of things that need done in each service or is it up to the dealer to decide what your car needs?

The £170 service included only oil filter, air filter and spark plug change + a check over.

The dearer one included oil change, filter change, fuel filter change, air filter change, pollen filter change, ford safety check thing as well as overall check of everything else.

There are only 28k miles on the thing so probably not much needs done. Any advice on what I should/shouldn't get included in the service and what does the 'official 3 year check' list include or where can I find this info.

Thanks chaps. Looked in the manual but it doesn't say anything about what to get checked. The last official ford dealer quote is £227 which includes oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plug change and ford 40-point inspection.

If I got the parts myself I could probably get a guy up to the road to do it a lot cheaper. Is there any advantage really in getting an official dealer to do it? Easier sold if full ford service history? It is 3years old now and just coming out of warranty so not sure what is best. Is the ford 40 point check just an official way of saying "we check everything else" or would they do stuff that the local lad wouldn't?

Lol - fair enough then! I honestly think they are out to do everyone and would be more than happy to buy parts myself and get local lad to sort it but wondering if any reason to keep it to official ford dealer.

Just for the stamp I would have thought tbh.. but I think these days a respectable indi is just as good.

Yep its 3 year old now and just coming out of warranty so probably not much point. Its not like it will be worth much when I go to sell it anyways I suppose.
