Had some fun this morning!...

Picked my car up from its 50k Service yesterday... All Seemed well and good till I got 200 or so yards down The Great Western Way heading toward the M4... All or a sudden There was an god awfull Rumbling sound and the car seemed to slow drastically!... I immediatly pulled over (This is a Dual Carriage way mind you!!!) and First Phoned 'Honda Assistance' who Priority Dispached a Van to me, then Work to tell em I'd be V-E-R-Y late in today!... Then Honda where I'd just picked up my car that morning!!! to tell em I'm brining it back with an AA man and I'M NOT HAPPY!! Having just parted with the better part of £300...

Turns out that a slightly over zealous Technician, had, on adjusting my breaks, Slightly Over tightened/Adjusted the Rear ones!...

Needless to say that when I got up to 65-70 on the Dual Carriageway the Discs expanded due to heat... The ABS/EBD Sensor sensed the Subtle Breaking effect and Applied the Breaks for me!!!..

Well Honda have got my car for another day (I got a Little Noddy Jazz 1.2 for another day!!!) and They've, Buy way of compensation, Said my 62,500 Service will be Half Price!!!... (Probly about £100-150 then!!)... I also noticed my File had VIP written in Yellow Highliter :D

All in All a Nice Start to the Day!!...

I hate watching Nutters on the Dual Carriage way Swerving at the last minute to avoid my car, even with its Hazards on and a warning Triangle (which some chav in a Corsa hit!!)

interesting,
they probbably made you a VIP so you dont sue the hell out of them for potentially killing you and other road users!

Exactly what I thought when I saw it!...

Personally I'd demand a full refund for the service otherwise you will report them to trading standards for making you vehicle unsafe.

About 10 years ago the cruise control locked ON on my Uncles Honda Accord shortly after a service and he only narrowly avoided an accident but turning the engine off (not too sure why he didn't knock it into neutral but I suppose when you're pooing your pants you doing the first thing that comes to mind). It turns out that during the service the "technician" had re-routed a cable incorrectly causing the malfunciton.

Initially the garage were not interested until my Uncle started mention words like Trading Standards and sue your ass. They paid for another garage to completely check over the car and for his next serivice at another garage.

Oh how I love all this modern techno rubbish - not!
What Honda is this?

Due to the design of the brakes it is very easy for a pad to be left touching a disk. On an good old simple car it probably wouldnt have mattered.

Its a CR-V Sport Auto (Yes I'm a fat lazy Old Git!!)...

How the hell did they hit the warning triangle? Did you put it in the actual lane?

It was at the edge of the lane, cos the long grass would have obscured it, even though he (nearly) didn't see a VERY LARGE dark blue car on a white background (nice and wintery -2 degrees!... I was freezing whilst waiting for the AA) with its hazards flashing, as he narrowly missed it swerving at the last minute into the other lane glaring at me in the process!...

The only reason I don't take my 98 Civic to Honda is because they charge twice as much as a decent independent garage. And the independent one hasn't used cheap components.

I'd definitely tell them you want a refund on that service, and not go back there again.

I have to its writen into the Warranty/Finance (Honda Finance) Agreement in the small print!... Though Thats up in August this year!... as its 3years old then (I know 50,000miles on a 53 plate!!!... I have been to France and Scotland quite a few times!!!)
