Hey
Anyone know of an app that lets you set the affinity of an application via the titlebar?
eg. right click on titlebar to bring up menu, click 'Set Affinity', rather than having to arse about opening up task manager.

I did a bit of googling about and found this. However, I suspect it doesn't support quad core CPUs, and it crashes on my system anyway.

Anyone got any suggestions?

There is a brilliant prog (not free though) called TaskInfo, where, among other things, you can set persistant priority and affinity to some progs around your desktop. Not via titlebar, but because it runs from task tray and sets the same values every time I reboot, so my media player is always slightly higher priority, background apps are set to particular cores etc etc works well for me.

Windows balances executing threads across all available CPUs/cores by default. There's simply no need to muck around with forcefully setting the affinity. The *only* case that you need to do this is for compatibility with some software that has problems working correctly on a multi-processor system (and this very rare). There is also some scenarios in server environments that setting a forceful affinity can be useful - but never does it relate to performance.
