Set the speed?

Basically, I have two computers, each with a Netgear WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 54Mbps Adapter.

However, they are only connecting at 11Mbps.

Why? And how do I get them to connect at the full 54Mbps?

maybe meny things
bad signal / interference etc
what OS you running?
are you using a router?
how have you got them setup (ad hoc network?)

Make sure that they are in g mode. If they are in b they will only connect at 11mbps.

Signal OK, I've put them literally next to each other for testing.

XP Home on one, XP Pro on the other.

Router is on the network, but not part of wireless.

Yes, ad-hoc network.

---- How do I check/set their mode? I can't seem to find it :confused:

No worries, found the answer.

Netgear products in Adhoc mode only support up to 11mbps

Oh well, it's still usably fast
