Got my wireless connection working great today with a belkin 54g PCI card and a BT voyager 2091 wireless router.

How can i check i have it secured? Im assuming that if anyone trys to connect to my router they will need the wireless key printed on the bottom of the router ( i needed it to connect my pc to it )

Oh

I followed the instructions in the leaflet that came with the pci card. It picked up the router, asked for the wireless key and then it worked?

According to the belkin wireless config utility i have WEP security. Will this prevent other connecting to the router or my pc?

No, WEP's horribly weak. Use WPA-PSK instead (if your kit will do it).

asked for the wireless key and then it worked?

It might very well do that, but it's probably the same key on all the routers :p

Tried it with WPA-PSK and TKIP and it made the connection go limited or no connectivity

EDIT : Same with AES

My PC is the only one connecting to the router. I think ive sussed it. Ive had a good read of the network card manual and i think the settings i choose only apply to the card, hence the limited connectivity.

So do i have to set the router with the same key and security settings?
