Is there anyone on the forums that is using a Draytek VIGOR 2750N for there BT Infinity?

If so could you if possible let me know what setting you have so I can get mine working.

I have been on the Draytek site and the unit I have has the latest firmware and I have set the Multi-VLAN tot he settings on Draytek's support page for the router/VDSL Modem but my unit just sits there, trying to connect. It will not sysnc at all.

Any Ideas???

Hello Mike,
From looking at the various forums, here, BT, AV Forums, Plusnet etc... there are quite a few of us that have the same problem.

What is the model of your BT Openreach Modem?? I ask because I have an ECI Telcoms modem so there is as far as I can see no unlock for this to actually see what the modem is doing and how its connecting to the FTTC DSLAM.

Would be handy because I think either the chipset in the modem is at fault or the codecs used in the firmware for the modem are not correct and have bugs that NEED to be resolved.

As I have put in another posting on here, the unit is IDEAL for what I am looking for, that is a all-in-one box replacement for the BT gear. Which dont get me wrong is OK but doesn't offer the GIG LAN or the Wireless N AP (I have a BT Business Hub). Wired is not an easy option as I have one PC in each of my son's bedroom's and a PC I use for Work and Radio Ham hobby in the workshop. so these 3 need to be wireless connected, and then I have a Laptop which is "N" enabled and then wired is a PS3, Xbox360 a BlueRay player and a PC in the room(HTPC) with a dual GIG LAN.

As for raising it with Draytek support I have raised 2 email with this problem so the do most defo know about it as do BBB where I got the unit from, they 2 have had quite a few returned and refunded for exactly the same problem.

Cheers Mike,

Mike,
My BT Modem is the ECI version looks the same as the Huawei but I would expect that this uses the same chipset. Yes reading about the forums the Draytek VDSL modems use the same chipset as the Huawei modems. But even so they should handshake and work if they all comply fully with the 8c/17a profiles BUT are BT using fully compliant profiles on the DSLAMS in the CABS??? Thats the problem are BT trying to make it as you can only use there kit doubt it but??

Regarding the symptoms YES exactly the same ALL data on the VDSL status page is either 0's or blank APART from the Firmware version and the profile which I have a 17a profile

And the DSL light just keeps flashing fast at first (handshaking) then slower training.

As regards the date the local exchange went live that was September of last year BUT our CABS in the village didn't go live until 15th December. But there have been problems with this unit since coming on the market if you look at the forums and the dates posts were put on there.

If I get NO JOY from Draytek next week after sending the SYS Log i have from the unit I think I will try a Billion 8200N has the Wirless N I am looking for but just not GIG LAN but I can live with that for now just buy a GIG LAN switch as an when I need it. As I have said BBB have been great and offered a replacement of the unit or a different product and I can pay the difference or get a refund if I get a cheaper product.

Cheers, Tez

Nice one Mike, shame it didn't come in time for me.

Supplier kindly supplied a second unit to try but to no avail so I changed that out for a Billion 7800n.

Stuck with the Open Reach Modem, and had the Billion up and running in about 20 mins. Had a small problem at first trying to get the unit to connect with the internet. I set it up same as the Draytek with the VLAN enabled and set to 101. BUT it turns out that I don't need the VLAN enabled turned it off and was connected and running smoothly in about 30 seconds after wards!!!

OK on the different chipsets Mike as well this could really be the major problem that is the route of all the problems with this product and like you say the reason why some people have working units and other don't.

Such a shame really as it is a good product for the new VDSL market and I hope Draytek sort the problem as I may look at it again in a few years time when all the problems have been ironed out.

For now I will stick with the Open Reach Modem and my Billion 7800n

Cheers Mike and good luck.
