Hi = upgraded to Lunatics 4.0 & gone from BOINC 7.0.25 to .27. Every now & then Gpu will drop to 30% while crunching 2 WU's. Snooze rarely works so have to restart BOINC which is a PITA. If left alone can take over 1hr before it rectifies itself to run @ +90% on my 560Ti.
Anyone else noticed this problem?

Had something fairly similar when i tried out 7.0.25 and went back to 6.10.58 screaming like a girly after it junked all my work units :(
hope you get sorted ..... wouldnt hurt to switch back to 6.10.58 for a bit i guess :)

Thanks Toxic, misery loves company;) - I heard that it is not simple to downgrade:( So might wait until rebuild & go back then.

I may have cracked it after a semi crash & reboot. Seems that I have to use a lower o/c setting than the one for F@H:confused:
This replacement card needs .025v & is not as stable as the old one [if only one of the fans hadn't died - c'est la vie]

PS Spoke too soon! Back to 30% again:mad:

Update. After much frustration & fiddling. Reinstalled nVidia drivers. Today had to disconnect internet & delete nVidia folder to stop 290xx installing automatically:mad: Deleted & reinstalled lunatics 39: no joy. Same with 40. both stable previously.
Tried default clocks & driver still crashing & resetting with Seti even if I upped the volts. Saw there is a newer Boinc for testing but didn't solve problem that persists even if I only crunch one wu on the card.
When I installed Lunatics 40 chose not to use the cuda option & that deleted all the cuda unit in the queue. Some kind of a solution until I can revert to v 6.
FAH running ok so far. one bonus is that Youtube is not crashing in FF now.

:eek:Ooooeck, wonder what the heck it is?

Couldn't put it better myself:D

After a while you doubt your own sanity & logic.
In 6 mins a new FAH unit should download [fingers crossed]
These drivers used to be 100% stable so my money is on BOINC.
I will know in 10 days time when I have the new IB setup & running with 6.12.34
Good news FAH d/l new wun & firing on all cylinders.
Bad news I upgraded to x86 version not 64 bit:o

My money would be on running hardware accellerated flash at the same time as boinc, have you tried turning off hw accel in flash?

Thanks for that Biffa. I now have!

Seems that by luck a crash after a F@H unit had finished threw up an error message. This jus took me to the nVidia forum page - so no specific help.
Used a newly recommended program, Who Crashed, this identified nvlddmkm.sys.
Google search gave partially helpful fix as the cmd expand.exe didn't work.
Used 7zip to extract file & copy it to the system32/drivers folder.

Problem solved:D [ I assume this file isn't replaced during driver install unless it is out of date, so a corrupt file can stay in place].

Now running BOINC 7.0.28 & Lunatics 40, with 2x cuda SETI as normal.
SETI has resent some of the lost tasks.:)

Thanks for the suggestions.

Just a quick update. Thanks again Biffa: it was accelerated Flash that was causing the problems with You Tube & FF 12&13.
Back running Boinc 6.12.34 & problem with cuda has gone away:)
[Previous fix wasn't 100% successful.]
