Seti Enhanced memory use?

For a while now I have been running Seti Enhanced but lately I noticed that after 10 days uptime my pagefile usage and virtual memory usage is ~1300Mb :(

So it look slike there is a program that isn't releasing the memory after use, is that correct?

The only programs that are changed recently are Set to Seti Enhanced and Oblivion so I think it is either of those apps.

But has anyone else noticed this trend?

I believe Bulldog did, that's why it's gone from his network. I don't run it any more here either. :(

Thing is, that should clear up when the application exits, unless it's doing something really bad with the operating system (Windows 98 used to have that problem far more than XP does).

I thought so too, unfortunately that doesn't happen.

It isn't hogging the RAM but it is raising the pagefile/virtual usage and exiting doesn't lower it.

From what I can see it isn't really limiting the system speed at all but on the other hand it can't be right.

I have 2GB of memory and set my pagefile to be 128-512MB and so far it has not increased it above 128MB. I have heard of problems with enhanced and memory usage. Personally I have it on 3 machines, two of which only have 512MB of memory, and haven't had any problems.

SETI enhanced uses a lot more memory than ye olde SETI on BOINC. it also has a habit (on my boxen) of starting four units, leaving two prempted (in memory) and working on the other two. By BOINC box is a 4Gb machine so it doesn't have a problem with it, but I've had to remove BOINC from my dev box to try and save some memory for some apps that I really need like visual studio, winCVS and word

Yes I'm a slacker but when you've donated as many hours of CPU time as I have then I fuigure you are allowed to

I wonder if I should try the dark side again.....

I don't understand that, I have 'Leave applications in memory while preempted?' set to 'no' but it still leaves them in memory
Mine is set to 'no' as well.

My computer has been on for 3 days now and the pagefile usage is at 586Mb and the virtual usage is at 483Mb already and I haven't done anything other than browsing internet and e-mailing so it's deffo Seti Enhanced.
