Woo Hoo!

There is a Giant Atomic Lizard cruncher on the front page of the Seti list ( here ) :D

Probably won't last, but I'm impressed

And all because an 'old' Q6600 will do 3.15 GHz under a Freezer Pro 7!

Temps 70-72c per core, according to TAT. So if some of the temps up in CPUs are to be believed there is room for more yet.

Especially as CPU-z says the core voltage is only 1.312 :)

We'll see!

Way to go - though I was initially disappointed as I thought the title said "Seti Goat" and thought maybe the Animal Farm thread might be making a return :p :D

:D;)

mighty impressive there. i'm sure you could eek a bit more out of it. perhaps with a bigger/better cooler? got to say i am using an acfreezer7 and i'm not that impressed with it, too noisy when its at 100% (and of course its at 100% all the time :D )

Yep, the AF7 is adequate for what it's doing, but that's all.

However, if I buy any more PC bits at the moment, She Who Must Be Obeyed will probably switch ME not-on  :D

Apparently the only reason she hasn't already, is that she wants someone to carry all her shopping when we go to the World Science Fiction Convention in Yokohama at the end of next month!

I swapped my ACF7Ps for Noctua NH-U12Fs and the difference is dramatic. Thoroughly recommended if your case has the room for one.

i doubt i can fit one of the big towers in my case (old school coolermaster praetorian with 80mm fans). i am waiting till the 92mm fan version of the thermalright extreme comes out.
