Today's news is brought to you by the websites All Project Stats, BOINCstats and Team Starfire World BOINC Stats ‘N Stones.

Run SETI on a GPU? Add your SETI username to this thread to be included in future news posts as a GPU user. Also add your name to the same thread if you’ve stopped running the GPU client so I can take you off the list.

As always, congrats to the tiffy winners and a warm welcome to our new member! Don’t forget that you can get your tiffies from www.teamocuk.co.uk; simply click on your username, scroll to the bottom of the page and use the relevant urls to display them in all their Technicolor beauty on this forum

[shadowscotland]

Thanks TT
Looks as if my 'pending' credit is keeping up with the P4 crunchers out their.
I wonder when the last one will be credited.... 7.5k to go

[Berserker]

Thanks for the news.

[Stuart Gibson]

Thanks for the news TT.

I've switched rigs 2 & 3 back on to get me up to 10 mil.

They are also helping keep my room cosy warm.

[Dougiebabe2003]

Came back to doing SETI after a little while away and have come back in full force!

Recruited a couple of mates and some 8800GT's to help boost my RAC.

Managed to just keep my 20th spot as Dave was very close to overtaking me and will be heading up the top 20!

My Tiffy from last week with a new one to come very soon!

Just in case nobody here has seen there is now another APP which allows you to run PART of an Astro Pulse unit on your ATI GPU! It took me a while to get running and there are a few problems (one major problem being that MOST of the AP unit run on the CPU and BOINC doesn't see the AP unit as a CPU WU. This means it still runs 4 MB units on my PC as well as 2 AP units.)

As it doesn't run the whole unit on the GPU, crunching times are still quite high, but it brings my time to cruch 1 AP WU down from 11~ Hrs to 8~ Hrs with a 4870. When it uses the GPU it uses it for short burst and longer bursts, one of the longer bursts lasts around 15 secs and it manges to get through 0.500% of a WU!

Here is a link to the lunatics thread with all the info:

Linky

Although this doesn't get through work anywhere near as quick as the Cuda app it is a step in the right direction to work being done on ATI Hardware

Regards and crunch on!

[Biffa]

Yay top of the flops and this!

On another note, with 190+K pending and my big cruncher in the MM this is the last S@H status message for a while:

update requested by user
Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
Reporting 36 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks
Scheduler request completed

[Stuart Gibson]

Only 1,000,000 to go to the big one!

[br83taylor]

thanks for the news TT, welcome to the new team member...

my production took a bit of a hit for a number of reasons, moved my CPU only cruncher over to rossetta, my home PC was not on for a bit while i upgraded to win 7. and most importantly my workstation that was less than 3 months old went belly up. kinda hoping it had nothing to do with SETI, anyhow the policy at work meant they don't try to fix things, so instead they delivered me a brand new one, a dual gainestown HP, lets hope this one lasts a bit longer. am trying it with hyperthreading on, mainly just to have 16 cores shown on the task manager and 17 tasks running on SETI. not sure if this is the optimum way to run it, might turn hypertreading off and see later on.

Hmm strange, my servers didn't come up on the list
