Your welcome chaps:)

Is it just me but the closest near earth miss by an asteroid for a long time the birth of 6 legged beasts and the end of the mayan calendar - were all doomed i tell ya :)

Welcome Mr derv sah :)

been looking all over, thought i had lost it but its back say hello to my mate the 'The Laughing Toaster' he might be the subject of a fiendishly difficult competition in the near future, so stay calm and collect anything that resembles a clue :confused:;)

From time to time there does seem to be gpu wu shortages thankfully they are not as frequent as they used to be and usually work themselves out pretty quickly.

Congrats on the upcoming millionaire status Mr derv sah :)

:( Dunno when I will get back to doing this got a lot going on at the moment with a unsure future with job and home so can't concentrate on SETI till I am done with it all. But I will be back one day this year just you wait and see. :D

Morning Mr Marine sah :)

I hope everything works out for you looking forward to haveing you back once things are sorted dont be a stranger :)

Should I be in the Single PC leaque with 4 pcs running seti?

Hi Tel2:)

Magnificent effort your putting in for the team its appreciated i will remove you from single pc users list from next news keep up the good work sah :)

That's a useful page, thanks Chasser. I'm not sure I like the red triangle next to my name though, not sure why that is there...

*glares at Mr Remos :D *

I don't think so. As soon as I added a second PC (even though it did less than a couple of hours work) I dropped off the single PC list.

I'm sure Mr TTB will correct me if I'm wrong.

Good modning Mr Millionaire :)

I should have said when you indicated you were having problems with gpu tasks if you go back to boinc version 6.10.58 it seems to correct the lack of gpu work .... my bad :)
Are you running more than one machine sah? If so will update the single pc users list accordingly, your efforts are really welcome please keep up the good work :D

Got a xeon L5640 hex core week or so ago installed everything works fine, am wary of manually overclocking and just applied a x16 multiplier which gives 2.99mhz (upto 18). Last few days have had a few blue screens and a few restarts am allmost sure the gpu's are fine (not massively oc).
Anyone have any experience with these chips that i could learn from? I know ideally i should put this question in the relevant forum but as you guys know what its used for you might have a better idea of whatswhat.
Thanks in advance peeps :)

Sorry toxic, never owned a xeon so cant help you there, run everything @ stock for a week to see if the problem still happens, that way you can start to eliminate possible reasons - it might be a power issue - have you got a molex socket to plug additional power in on your mobo?
Nice tiffy Tel...

Indeed there's a whole lotta tiffys aboot the hoose :)

Am trying to work my way up from stock but my fingers have gone a bit funky i blame that darn angle grinder, got hardware upgrades sat here laughing at me i cant fiddle with em
Had today all planned the case is finished all ready to shift gubbins am absolutely gutted, either way as long as that dastardly Czech National Team get whats coming to them thats all that matters .... is Czech even a proper word :eek:;)

Hows your mega build coming Mr edge sah .... a sea of red and black .... boatloads of ram .... i do envy :)

Tbag, might or might not help but most of the Xeon stuff is over in the hardforum distributed computing SR-2 thread, might help you get to where you want to go. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1541357

Thanks for that Mr Biffa sah much appreciated :)

Nearly there now, just waiting on the MDPC braid to arrive and I can start briading the PC as I have all my bits now...
Gonna take some photo's this weekend of all the bits as I fancy doing a build log as spending this much means I feel it is a shame to hide it all away.

from the sounds of it, your power tool accident was a bit worse than you were letting on if it is still stopping you building, you do still have all your fingers don't you???
Hope you heal up OK

I do still have all me digits honestly, just the tips of my thumb n forefingers feel numb am going to docs this morning get me a new set :D

Looking forward to your build log sah i think all that shiny shiny might give me the boost i need :D

Toxic....

First let me complement you on you first wc'd rig - looking good :)

Next - is the Lunatics app still the way to go for seti?

Cheers

Cheers sah thank you very much am more pleased that i have a rock solid stable rig now after trying different overclocks its working fine (he says)

Lunatics is still the way to go i believe its upto 0.39 now welcome back sah :)
