Brilliant Dave mighty fine job you've done with the news thank you very much, and congrats to all the tiffy winners storming efforts teammates :)
 
Sort of :)

I'm a bit er.. regimented, so I've been testing everything the way I tested the first two cards. Also I've been out of action the past few nights, which is normally when I do this sort of testing, so haven't been able to get any done, managed to do some last night but should be finished tonight.

Initial results show similar performance to the GTX580.

What I was surprised about was the 7970 performance on Seti, its much better than it used to be with the new lunatics multibeam client.
 
I believe that I'm GPU aided now that I'm using that Lunatics client. Thank god they have ATi GPU apps.

Also, you call those tiffys? PAH! I'm 700 off of... 10,000. The beginning of a long road. :p

EDIT: Just checked my task list. I have 10 ready to report ._.

Well its appreciated will help me decide on new cards :)
A bit suprised about the "similar" performance i was hoping for example the 580 2 tasks 9 mins 680 3 tasks 6 minutes i know its not an exact science but the 7970 performance is a bit of an eye opener ...... hmmm plenty of food for thought there Mr Biffa sah i look forward to your conclusions ..... am going to throw 2 x 295s in just to get my average up until i decide

I will be doing the news this week and will try to remember the "gpu assisted" bit if i forget give me a short sharp dig in the ribs :eek::D

Thanks! My BOINC client is being a bit idiotic again and not reporting or receiving any work. Gonna leave it for a couple hours and hope it works.
 
flippin' marvellous tiffys this week chaps, keep them coming :D

will1b: I think the servers might be down for maintenance at the moment. They'll be back up soon.

I must give out my thanks to ReaverUK - I didn't know you could run more than one WU per GPU. Both my rigs are now crunching two a time and my usage has gone right up to 95%. Making the most of it before summer comes and I can't take the heat anymore.

I tried 3 WUs on the 580s but I think they ran out of memory and everything started lagging. 2 seems the sweet spot, same on the 470s.
