A warm welcome to our 2 latest team members hope your stay is a long and happy one! As allways any questions or problems be sure to post your query in the latest news thread for a quick response, and check the team ocuk website link to see if your crunching efforts have earned you a wonderous tiffy for display in this very thread.

Its been a very respectable week for team output in 8th place as far as recent average credit goes. Congratulations to Mr derv on his 8,000,000 tiffy and 30" of dell goodness and to Stickman on his ever improving output. Well done to Mr Loudbob on completeing his horrendously complicated 4 x gtx 680 watercooled setup, am sure his output will put us all to shame in the coming weeks. You will have to keep us uptodate with their performance Mr L as i am sure there are still a few people interested in them :)

I got hit with an unexpected financial bombshell so its back to 1 rig for the immaediate future but as allways got my plans set on something pretty darn special in the coming months stay tuned ...

Thank you for the news good sir.

I'm trying to enjoy my last day at the RAC top spot, was nice while it lasted. Counselling starts tomorrow :D

Excellent as always....

And thanks for the mention :D

I'm gonna clean out the wu's on each of the three rigs and then set-up a dual boot system (win7 & winxp) - just to check on if xp (32bit) is still better for seti.

Looks like my oc'd 680's are more or less on par with my 570's at the mo......but this will change once the new opt app gets released.

Thank you very much for the news Mr T Bag,
Thank you very-very (very-very) very-very (very-very) very-very (very-very) much!
But I must apologise, we're all out of Cadburies Roses. :)

Am well chuffed with getting into the top 20 for RAC and dumpage, and getting a mention. :)

Thanks again T. :)

Edit: And this is my post I moved from the other thread:

I'm afraid I had to change my sig back from the seti one... what with the non-customizable avatars on here I couldn't tell at a glance which posts were mine since we all had seti sigs lol. My old eyes are too lazy to read every name. :D

Oh, some good news: The postman brought another pressie today... :)

Thanks for the news Mr TeaBag, its always much appreciated.

Nice tiffy Mr Stickman, well done.

You could always customise your sig with the stats..

Thanks for the news!

I finally scrounged up a side panel fan to cool my passive 6450, so the poor little thing is now running overclocked to the gills but around 30C cooler :)
That's crunching Collatz quite nicely, and I reinstalled both mine and my family's PCs the other day due to playing musical SSDs. I managed to copy over the old data and settings so they both resumed crunching Rosetta without a hitch.
It was my birthday on Thursday so after I've sorted a few bits on my car, I might yield to temptation just slightly and pick up a few little bits for crunching - nothing too much, because I still want to save for a monster setup later this year to keep me warm in winter :)

Hey guys.... could slightly increasing the graphics card OC drop output somehow? It's just that yesterday I was running the 7970 at 1.05 GHz core, and i managed to get about 30,000 credits for the day, and the task duration correction factor was showing as 1.15.

Today I upped it to 1.1GHz (50MHz more) and there's no more errors showing up but the task duration correction factor has more than doubled to 2.5, and I only seem to be on target for about 20,000 work units. Weird.

Well, looks like I'm good for over 200k rac with current set-up......

Still trying to finalise the oc on the 680's - three are stable at just under 2500Mhz but I'll drop it slightly so all four are stable at same settings.

Should be swapping the first rig over to WinXP tonight, second should be tomorrow and the final rig on Wednesday. Hopefully, WinXP is still better for SETI so should see a some increase in PPD.

Also, I still gotta install the third GTX 460 so again more PPD :D

With any luck we'll get the next Team Stomp in under a year ;)

And I'm still waiting for the next update to the opt apps :D :D :D

After much deliberation and a fair bit of DIY - I have discovered that I can't fit the 460 into the case that I have (unless I can come up with a single slot cooling solution or get a different case).

As I'm not going to throw anymore money at it - it looks like the 460 will be getting returned (good job I didn't remove the plastic wrapping).

As for the WinXP installation - it was a nightmare.......

Took over eight hours to find a solution so that I could install WinXP alongside Win7 - turns out WinXP doesn't like SATA3. Also, as it was a bare board which I purchased none of the usual extras came with it (like driver CD) and I couldn't figure out what RAID Drivers were needed......

Finally came up with the solution of slipstreaming all RAID Drivers into the XP CD along with Service Pack 3 which was also required......

Was a lot of hair pulling involved - surprised I'm not bald already :D

Anyways, output looks good on WinXP with the two 570's - will know in a few days if it's better than Win7 (but it's looking promising).

S'pose I'd better request an RMA for this unopened 460..... :(

Don't send it back, just buy another rig to put the card in :D

I'm interested to hear how much improvement you get running XP. I'd consider running it on my second rig. Given that I don't even have a monitor or KB/mouse plugged in I'm not fussed what the OS is :)

From memory it was around 10 to 20% - but that was before the latest opt apps......

From the results i've been getting so far i'd say it still holds true :D

Second PC has now cleared it's cache of SETI - will install XP when I get home from work around 1:00am :)

BTW: the 680's are stable with an overclock of 125MHz (GPU Clock), 350MHz (Memory) and temps stable at 48, 53, 54 & 63 (the 63 has a slightly smaller tube supplying the water cooling). CPU oc'd to 4.3GHz with temps stable between 57 and 67.

PARP!!!

This one goes out to Burlsey.......please get your cell in order ready to vacate - you have aprox two to three days before I require the keys :D

Very impressive temps Mr Loudbob. Mr TTB has tried to talk me into water cooling a couple of times and I am slowly coming round to the idea (lets hope it's very slowly otherwise my bank balance and the missus will not be happy :D )

Keep me updated re your XP performance. All being well I will wave goodbye to Windows 7 on the weekend.
