Setting installation drive

I am about to setup a computer for a family member and they dont know much about computers.

I have a small ssd as the windows drive and a 2TB HDD installed also.

Is it possible to create a setting whereby all games and apps install to the HDD and don't go into the windows drive, by default?

I do it without thinking on my own rigs, just set the destination drive each time but they will just click any old drive letter

Looks like changing program files and data via regedit would help

you can change my documents / downloads etc by going to the user folder and moving them

Yes, but be sure to update anything that is significant in the PATH variable

When you install windows make sure the ssd is the only drive connected as this will prevent windows trying to store stuff on the HDD during install.
