Setting manual wsus settings in registry on windows 7

Im trying to set the wsus server on a work win7 machine manually in the registry.

In windows xp its just the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\

Value name: WUServer

Value name: WUStatusServer

However, the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\

Doesnt exist on win7.

Am I looking in the wrong place, do I have to create it, or is it somewhere else.

Then create it...

Or try setting it through Local Policy?

Maybe....

But surly Windows 7 should have a similar reg key somewhere for manually specifying an wsus server.....

You may need to create it yourself. Not all reg keys exist. Many are created as and when they are needed.
