setting refresh rate vp191s and x1900xt

I just replace my 7800gt with X1900xt. The refresh rate setting seems to be different. On x1900xt i can set up to 75 hz on 1240x1024 DVI connection. This is quite strange since i heard that i can only do 60 hz on such connecttion. Am i setting it wrong? please advice

you can often set the refresh at 75Hz even over DVI. However, the recommended and optimum refresh rate for a TFT is 60Hz, it should be set at that for best operation
