HI all,

Need infomation and a little bit of help if possible.

I have a VirginMedia 20mb internet connection and i also use a Linksys WRTG54G router, I have 2 xbox360's, One is connecting wirelessly and the second console is cabled in with a ethernet cable. Now my question is this, When running the wizard on either xbox it says i can connect but my nat profile if moderate, meaning i could have problems in games and also with speech on the headset as well, This is happening on my son's machine. Now i have placed his xbox in the DMZ with a static IP and he appears to be OK now, However i did notice when i turned my xbox on after i sorted his it kicked him off and it wouldnt let him connect. until i disconnected from live.

it is currently setup with his machine in the DMZ(Not Ideal) and mine has a staically assigned IP with various ports forwarded.

Now my question is this, Do you use static IP's or DHCP to allocate the ip's out to the xbox's i do have a config page within my router which will allow me to forward ports for all machines on my lan. any help is appreciated as want to get the 2 machines working on the same internet connection.

You will only generally get one Open and one Moderate.

My friend has 2 Xbox's set up on his connection, both wired, he uses a Netgear Rangemax or similar and has one Xbox in DMZ and the other has an IP from the DHCP pool and relys on uPnP for forwarding.

Thanks for the help guys, Forwarded the ports in my linksys router and i now appear to have one xbox which is open and can access xbox live unrestricted, This afternoon i tested the connection and i could connect OK. I went out and my son turned his xboox on and he too connected, As soon i turned mine back on so they were both online at the same time he disconnected, i came offline and it my son a goood few minutes to get reconnected. He is connecting wirelessly and i connect via a ethernet cable.

One question i have is i have forwarded the following ports as recommended on the MS website, I also have uPNP enabled in the router

• Port 88 (UDP)
• Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
• Port 80 (TCP)

my question is this, These are indivdual ports, if i turn on my xbox and start a connection with some of these ports, How is my son going to connect to the same port, isnt that a problem?
