Setting Up 3G Access On Nokia E51

Hi,

I have just bought myself an offline nokia e51 to replace my blackberry 8700f (I have 8m left on my contract so am stuck with them for the time being - why is oranges selection of new phones so bad?!).

The 3G icon doesn't appear on the phone, i am able to use the normal orange world services - but not over 3G.

What do I need to do to set this up? I have made several calls to orange but they are hopeless.

It should have all the settings in it already.

You might want to check whether it's been forced into 2G mode.

Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Network -> Network Mode

This should be set to "dual mode" or "UMTS".
 
Thanks for the reply.

It was in 'dual mode', when i force it into UMTS i seem to lose coverage.

From what I have been reading it seems I need a 3G enabled sim, I have arranged for orange to send one out. Hopefully that should sort it out.

In the mean time I have to say I am loving the phone, very small/light with great connectivity! :)
