I....don't.....know......
hey, I'm about to go buy myself a nice new rig and am afraid ill forget something small and be stuck with a kick ass top of the range door stop until I get it.

In short, does this setup need anything e.g
- mini-dv -> Dvi adapters,
- more cooling
- is the Psu strong enough

I'm a programmer , I'm used to working on cosmetics, guts freak me out :D

looks good

only comment is that you should get a Samsung 2TB, saves you a bit of money and lower risk of failing

That monitor does not have a display port. You will need an active adapter as eyefinity requires the use of the display port on the gfx card. Finding one could be a problem as they are rare, some people are using the dell one and reporting that it is cutting out during gaming, others are using the apple one. I suggest some googling to see what people are finding with each setup.

It may be best to go for a monitor than natively supports display port, even if it means a slightly small screen. Just a thought

I opted to splurge and upgrade from the 22" to 24" and had to sacrifice the solid state drive and the blue-ray disc drive and downgrade the PSU from 1050w.

this system is literally breaking me, i'll be eating nothing but soup for the next two months but.....totally worth it :D

edit* - hear that alright but 90% of my usage will be for the added workspace so that's not a major factor. I was more worried bout the cables needed for the IFinity setup and the low Hard disk speed.

You also need an a DP->VGA adapter for the third monitor. That PSU is more than enough :)

EDIT: Passive DP->VGA works well with most users here, no need for an expensive active DP->DVI.

The eyefinity 6 edition cards have 6 x mini display port connections, nothing else. I am sure that the card comes with 6 x mini display port to DVI adaptors...

I would recommend Iiyama ProLite E2607WSD myself, The monitors your currently looking at are abit cheaper but offer far less height then an 26" 16:10 monitor

Honestly if your spending that should have money I would want a little more viewing height then a 24" 16:9 monitor. 26" 16:10 is much closer to the actually viewing angle of your eyes. Not to mention the colours on that display are nothing short of amazing, and it's not an expensive option either.

Also the added bonus of 1920x1200 helps.

That's my opinion anyways.

16:10>16:9 eyefinity.

I really wish I could but even though the rig looks awfully expensive its pretty much maxed me out.

btw am i blind or are there no display port to VGA adaptor cables on OCUK?

Why are you getting the Eyefinity 6 edition? Get the standard 5870.

2GB RAM on the E6 version will be good at that resolution over the standard 1GB version.

See here for a list of the connectors the E6 comes with http://www.powercolor.com/global/products_features.asp?id=241#Specification Should be everything u need to set up Eyefinity with the option of 2 DVI, 2DP, and 1 HDMI.

If you need a DP -> VGA adapter for the 3rd screen then search DisplayPort to VGA Female Cable Adapter Display port £18.99 (no OCUK dont stock them).

The top is the eyefinity 6 edition, the bottom a standard 5870. The must include adaptors for at least 3 screens surely?

maybe they include 2 DP-DVI adaptors and intend on you buying the active DP-DVI adaptor or passive DP-VGA adaptor
