Hi all, right the reps at work are all getting there laptops updated so there for I have been offered one of there old ones, i already have a PC at home and I want to network wireless, I also have broadband internet, the way I was thinking of doing it was to use my main PC as a server and just connect to it remotely with my laptop through terminal server would this be the best way to do it ? can you guys explain what I would need to achieve this and also reccomend the best products to buy for the job ?

Would I also be able to connect remotely to the server via the laptop when I am away from the server i.e connect remotely through the internet ?

If you have a wireless setup at home just buy a wireless card for the laptop. If not, and you're using a router, get a Wireleess acsess point and also a wireless card for your laptop. That's all you need and you're ready to go. :)

My PC at the moment is not wireless, the laptop I will be getting is wirless so I dont need to get a wireless card do I ?

And how about connecting to my PC remotely when I am away from my house ?

Is it easy to setup a network using remote desktop

You're right, you don't need a wireless card then. Just get a Wireless acsess point and connect it to your router.

I'm not a 100% on the remote desktop away from the laptop when you're at work ect, need to ask someone who knows more on that. However to setup the wireless if thats what you're on about is easy and sep by step info, straight farward bru! :)

I dont have a router yet so what are the best routers and access point thing that I need
