Setting up a small LAN party...where to get desks?

Hello, so I'm setting up a small LAN party for a group of friends (there will be about 5 of us in total, I already have a desk where all my stuff is set up on, so two desks should be enough) and I'm wondering where I can get some desks from? I just need either some cheap stable desktop desks, or somewhere where I can rent desks...or if it'd be cheaper to attempt my DIY skills (or lack thereof ).

So, any suggestions?

You can probably hire trestle tables from your local village hall.

Make sure the edges are not raised as this will be annoying as hell and painful after a while on the wrist when using the mouse and keyboard.

This is a good bet. We used to hold small LAN parties at my friend's place and they borrowed tables from the local primary school. It's worth asking!

they're a charity that takes unwanted furniture from businesses and sells them on cheap.

Search Freecycle for unwanted tables.

But in several years of LANs at people's homes, we've never struggled. Use kitchen tops, coffee tables, etc.

Ugh, sorry I haven't replied for a while. Turns out my neighbour had an old unwanted dining table in her garage, so I just took that, it should suffice and if it doesn't I've got a couple of garden tables for extra room. I'm sure we'll make do.

ikea sell excellent kitchen tables/desks for £25/30. Real wood, pretty solid, can easily be 'customised' with a saw.

searching ikea for INGO rings up exactl one result ? maybe it's now EOL. They used to do a square one for £20. One of ikeas best bargains imo
