Hi all,

Could someone just run through how I would set up a vcr with a digibox so that the vcr can record digital channels?

My mum has offered my services to someone, without consulting me, and I have not set up a vcr before. Im sure it cannot be that hard?

Any guides or anything?

Whats the best way to do it? I was thinking, make sure that the digibox outputs RF into the vcr, set channel 6 (for example) on the vcr to show the digital channel, then when wanting to record digital, record channel 6.

That sound about right?

Please help,

Thanks

No that sounds completely wrong as it is very unlikely the digibox has an RF modulator.

Instead you will want to run a scart from the VCR output of the digibox (assuming it has 2 scart outputs) to the AV input of the VCR.

Then connet the VCR to the TV via scart and the Freeview to the TV via scart too.

Put the Freeview box on TV's AV1 and the VCR on AV2.

Set the freeview box to output RGB and if it's a widescreen tv then 16:9 too.

set the vcr to av1 or av2 (whatever av input the receiver is connected to the vcr on).

Sometimes called EXT1 or EXT2 aswell.

Actually sometimes called other things depends on the manufacturer. Usually it's AV but if it's some other name then don't panic.

Yeh sorted. The reason why it wasnt recording sky was because it didnt have a connection between the digi box and the vcr. I simply connected a scart lead and everything worked. Just have to put it on a1 to record sky.

Easy as pie really. Was just worrying that i wouldnt be able to figure it out and look stupid.

Cheers for the help ppl
