I have 2 computers both connecting to the Net via a router. I've been trying unsuccessfully for the past 2 hours to set up a network between the two. I've run the automatic network setup between the two but for some reason they cannot "see" each other. Am I missing anything? Both is on XP SP2

Hi

I did all that but when I do the "run" command it just says that "The network path was not found"

Any ideas what that could be?

My problem seems to lie on PC2. The little shared folder just popped up on my Network Places on PC1 and I can see the second PC when I go to View Workgroup computers, just cannot connect to it.

PC2 don't see anything.

I have 3 pcs (!) and 2 can see all 3 but one persistently cannot see 1 of the other PCs - so if you resolve this you may help me!

try going to a DOS window and type (RUN - cmd)

NET view

if you see the other PC

try typing "NET USE \\pcname"
(without " ")

then "net view \\pcname" and you should see shared folders

Still not working but we're getting closer.

Tells me I have a System error 6118

Everytime on PC2

Yeah, I got that far but the damn thing still doesn't work.
Networks is SO annoying. I always seem to have trouble setting them up!
