I have been asked by work to learn how to set up an exchange server. Does anyone know where I can get some good tutorials from installing Windows Server 2008 to configuring exchange server to send/receive email and share contacts and calendars?

If this is a job you plan on staying in for some time then I would seek some external assistance of some serious training. I'm not saying you'll mess it up but it will be your first go so it won't be perfect and in the future it could well become a pain.

basic exchange install is easy

you need to know about MX records as well or your new exchange server will get very bored...

Installing it is fairly easy, infact setting it up is pretty simple to. It's the continued management of it which can be a pain.

Like edscdk you'll need to update your MX and probably your PTR DNS records and configure your firewall too.

Will you be installing it all on one box?

Basic install is a very straight forward making the right decisions so that it all still works and is easily manageable down the line isn't. I've lost count of the number of rubish exchange systems I've worked on where 99% of the problems would have been avoided by doing it right first time.
