Hi guys,

As I'm not familiar with a blueyonder setup wondered if you kind folks could help.

I'm helping a friend today and thought I'd get some info beforehand. They have a motorola modem which has ethernet on it. To set this up do you have to have the telewest cd as I believe they've lost it or does it just have a standard web configuration where you can type in 192.168.0.1 etc to access it and set it up. Any info you can share would be great, TIA

There's no real setup required at all. The modem isn't a router, but may have web diagnostics on 192.168.100.1 (but you don't need to mess around with this).

Just set the computer's Ethernet port to get it's IP automatically (by DHCP), turn the cable modem off, plug it in, turn it back on and it should all just... work :p

I ususally have to use the install the CD to get my internet working, they send one out free of charge, when I lost mine they sent me 2 ! :D

thanks for the info guys, one quick question then, if the motorola doesn't have a web config page then where would you put in the username and password, can you just setup a connection via the internet connection wizard? Actually thinking about it that wouldn't be possible if you were connecting via ethernet, therefore I would imagine its got a web config page. Would you be able to confirm this? thanks again
