I would like to set up a dual boot on a new build. I will be using Win XP Pro and Vista Ultimate.

How do i go about setting it up? Do I need 2 partitions? Will the partitions be accessible to both?

I use XP, set up my two partitions there, install XP on the XP one, put the vista disc in and install that on the vista partition and vista even sorts out the boot loader for you! How nice of it!
Good luck!

I did this:

Installed XP.

I then decided I wanted a dual boot so I made a 100GB partition on the 200GB disk.

Installed Vista on the new partition.

Vista automatically updated the boot list etc. ;)

It's not the ideal way of doing things, but I only did it that way because I couldn't be bothered to reinstall XP :p

Preferably partition the disk before anything is installed, then install XP first and Vista after.
