Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy a secondary monitor for my set up, I currently have a 780ti graphics card.

I aim to use one monitor mainly but when gaming I would love to be able to have my games running on my main monitor and my secondary monitor having web browsing, football on in the background etc, basically normal everyday functioning.

How easy is this to set up? Is there a noob guide etc?

You connect the 2nd display to your card and that's about it.

It should be auto detected and then its c a case of making sure the resolution+Hz is correct for both screens.

In the Nvidia control panel pick the one you want to be used for gaming and make it primary and games will auto start on that display, you can drag items such as web pages with footie stats over to the 2nd screen.

Ahh brilliant,

although say I am playing BF4, i want to quickly check a web page on the 2nd monitor, how does the mouse function? Obviously it is controlling myself in BF4 but would the mouse icoon just drag over to the secondary monitor or would this be affecting my current gaming session?

Also I am looking at my main monitor being 144hz and the secondary being 120hz, this is OK?

As above.

I have a 780ti with a ROG swift on dp and a 24" 120hz Benq in portrait on DVI. It works a treat, for example BF4 with battlelog/maps on the secondary.

Windows will need setting up on which is primary which you can do through display settings.

There is, in my experience, occasional blips such as flickering when a game is first loaded, but rock solid after that. No experience on streaming video and playing at the same time though.

Good luck

edit: thusly

On mine (gaming screen on the right, big movie/web screen on left) you can pause the game or wait till you die, move the mouse cursor over from the BF4 screen left in to the taskbar of the left screen and click chrome icon or something.

The BF4 window will collapse down into the task bar and all you have to do to play bF4 again is click on the BF4 taskbar icon and it pops up to full screen again.

Thanks everyone, sounds fairly simple!

The monitor I am looking at buying is 144hz and will make this my gaming monitor, the current monitor is 120hz so will become my secondary :)
