Hey Chaps,

Was wondering if anyone else has one of these. The specific model is M5512cdw.
Today I've been on the ropes, it seems this kind of printer has a driver package called a "KX" driver, problem is that the driver installer can't find the printer over the wireless. It clearly exists as I can ping the printer, and have also managed to get the Windows generic driver to install it. When the Windows driver is better than your proprietary one, something is going wrong.

Unfortunately due to lacking the right cable, I can't even plug into it over USB.

I get to the menu at 1:25 on this youtube video and see nothing shows up. If I manually install, no printing.

Any idea's?

Thanks in advance.

I couldn't see a M5512cdw, but I can see a M5521cdw: Product Support & Downloads | Kyocera (kyoceradocumentsolutions.co.uk)

I would put the printer on a static IP high up in the range, e.g. 192.168.1.201, mask 255.255.255.0, default gateway your router, DNS your router
It needs to be high up in the range to make sure it's not going to be given out to a PC. It's better than using a name and relying on name resolution. Also better than using an IP given by the router because that can change.
Make sure you can ping it on the new IP. Then try the driver installation program again to see if it picks it up. If it doesn't, then install the printer (select local printer or network printer with manual settings) through Devices & Printers, create a new Standard TCP/IP port for the IP it's on and unpack KX_Universal_Printer_Driver.zip to get the driver from: Kx_8.1.1109_UPD_Signed_EU\en\64bit (or even just point it towards the unpacked directory and it'll search the sub directories for a suitable driver)
