Hi guys,

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-180-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517 is my ram

Just set up my new pc with everything, my old pc never had functions to set ram timming ect ect....

So i would just like to check that these are ok settings:

i have manually set (i think) the timmings - 8-8-8-24 in the bios,

but i have not control of the frequency ? is this right

im thinking they are all ok, but i have no confirmation, i think they are ok as

the dram freq x3 is around 1600, and i think my ram is meant to run at that speed,

i would just like confirmation of that is the right speed and its not meant to show 1600mhz on the dram freq.

Thanks

Your memory is running at 1080mhz, need to double what CPU-Z shows.

You need to check the BIOS for memory multiplier / ratio.

hmmm ive got it up to 722mhz, by doing some fiddling, no where i can see to manually set the ram stuff except the timmings (unless im missing something in that menu)
my motherboard gives me some werid options to either let me go to 1440mhz or to 1800mhz, no 1600mhz !? it will not boot in 1800mhz :/

There is an option to select 1600mhz ram timmings, but this changes my cpu clock speed !? and then when i go to change the clock speed, it changes the ram speed !?

argh help please !

For some reason Asus website is playing and wont let me look at the motherboard, or even download the manual.

Problem I believe, is the memory speed done through the multiplier / ratio x cpu BCLK (bus freq) in order to get 1600mhz you will need to increse the BCLK or decrease this and increase the memory ratio / multiplier.

For me on my i7 socket 1366 I need 200 on the BCLK with 8 x on the memory multiplier to get my memory running at recommended speed.

Right i think i may of cracked it ! this is what my cpu clocks and memory are @ :

i had to lower the multiplier but up the bclk frequency ? Does this sound like an ok thing to do?

Does lowering the multiplier make a lot of difference? in speed ect

Thanks a lot
