Hi guys,

Nothing really complicated here, but a few quick questions before I put my new pieces together that arrive today.

Is the ryazen 3600 fine at all stock settings? I'll be running a arctic freezer 34 eSports duo on mine.

And I have some Corsair vengeance 3600 ram coming too, will I have to change any settings for this in the BIOS to work properly with ryazen?

Cheers

There should be a setting in the bios called either D.O.C.P or XMP that just needs enabling to get the ram running at its full speed.

Bare in mind if your running 3600mhz ram with that cpu you are overclocking the infinity fabric, you could encounter audio pops and stutter and may need to adjust some voltages and even then its not guaranteed it will like it. If you do, work down by setting ram speed to 3533, 3466 etc until it works perfectly.

Is it as simple as going into the bios and setting them speeds?

pretty much yea its easy, set the xmp to profile 1 first then alter speed (if you need to) that way your timings and Dram voltage will be done for you. I would also suggets turning off speed spectrum in bios as well, will be on main page, switch to advanced bios rather than default.

Just sayin, you might have a nice Ryzen 3600 that handles 1800 Infinity fabric no problem, but some don't. Just something to bare in mind if you hear pops and audio stutter and things like this. The native speed is 3200mhz ram (1600mhz infinity fabric)

Had some great results, set the ram speed to 3600 in bios and changed the xmp, everything is running super smooth, so pleased, my ryazen is boosting perfectly to 4.2 ghz and gett somke really cool temps of 41 deg at idle and 56 while gaming. I must have got lucky!

Ideal, I'm sure newer batches are better, I have one of the first batch.

Mine just worked.

DOCP/XMP on for 3600Mhz, Hardware Info shows infinity fabric at 1800.

Mine is under a Noctua NH D-14. Gaming temps peak around 73, average 61-62. Average of 4025Mhz across all cores at stock.

I used the "Boost" mode in bios (which overclocks the CPU to 4200Mhz all cores) which works fine for about 2 weeks but got a random BSOD so went back to stock - no real noticeable difference anyway except for the CPU running a few degrees hotter.

Aren’t you glad you saved your money? Told ya 3600 worth it over the 3600XT :p

Yes indeed, thanks for that, the system is able to handle anything I'm throwing at it, I know my 2500k system was 10 years old but I still felt it was handling things well. However this is just awesome.

I think the way things are I'll be upgrading to the next gen of and when it comes out as well.
