Tried googling but couldn't find what I need.

have a 32"Samsung chg70 monitor coming tomorrow which is Freesync or native 144hz, as I have a 980ti I obviously cant use freesync. What do I need to setup or do so that the monitor is running at 144hz (or up to this fps) with my 980ti?

Playing Destiny 2 so I doubt ill go over 144hz so tearing shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks

In the monitor OSD, select Game. Make sure FreeSync is set to Off. You can set the refresh rate here and also you will need to set response time, which I would test to see which one you like. This monitor has a back light strobe in this mode, so it should be great even without FreeSync.

monitor is ace, nice and smooth, great colours etc, biggest issues with is is how far forward on my desk i now need to have it due the stand being VERY! deep, i had to pull my desk 4 inches away from wall and even with that the monitor is probably another 6 inches closer to me than previous monitor. think im gona get a wall mount for it.

The stand is indeed very deep. It put me off at first, but I have grown to like it now. It is very stable. I have the 27" and the image is very sharp with brilliant colours.

What does text look like on these Samsung VAs? I have read they they don't look as crisp due to the sub-pixel shape?

In other words these aren't good for reading/web/docs compared to a similar IPS.

No issues at all on the 32” I can tell you that

I have no problems with text on the 27" model. Very sharp image all round to my eyes.

So tempted with the 32". Have a asus pb278q atm, whilst not the best at gaming the image/reading on it is superb. Which is why am slightly hesitant .

I updated my C27HG70 with new firmware 1016.2. FreeSync Standard is 120 to 144 Hz and Ultimate 48 to 144 Hz. A much better range on ultimate now. The information setting now states this monitor supports FreeSync 2.

Agreed. Have mine on a wall mount (ergotron LX )

^^^ This.
Was one of my concerns too and concur it's fine on the 32 at least.

Got my 24", one dead pixel just of centre of the middle :(

I got it via a large department store who are known for great customer service, they said I can have a refund as they are out of stock until Jan. That would mean re-buying at the reduced rate from purple shirts...

Sorry to hear about that issue. What did you think of the monitor in other areas, was text an issue in the end?

It looked fine on the Windows citrix I was connected to, it looked terrible on Mac OS but that's expected on any non retina screen. I don't get my gaming PC until tomorrow.

I'm very interested in this screen too, torn between 27 and 32 at the moment, some saying the 27 is sharper? Only £40 difference between them on Amazon now too.
