Evenin',

As a few may know, my TV has given up the ghost, and I'm going to be without one for an indeterminate period of time. As part of the diagnosis process I reset all the system settings on my PS3, and as such, my PSP is no longer paired with it.

Given that my PS3 pipes sound through my nice surround system, I like to use the iPlayer to listen to the radio, using the PSP to browse to the right show. Given that my TV is goosed, I need to re-pair the PSP with the PS3 with no visual clues from the PS3 at all. I'm using an infrastructure network, so that should minimise the steps involved...

The question : Could someone please give me a blow by blow, press by press account of setting up remote play on the PS3 end, so that I can get some use out of my home cinema?

Thanks in advance,

Apop

You could try this, assuming your on the latest firmware. Make sure the PSP is connected by USB and USB mode is on.

Hold left for a few seconds to go all the way across the XMB, press right once and then down 13 times. Press X, X, X, X and then give it 5-10 seconds while it registers the PSP. Press X then Circle to complete.

Now to set the PS3 into remote play mode, hold right for a few seconds to go all the way to the right hand side of the XMB. Press left twice, press up and then X.

Should be good to go then. :)

That's brilliant, thanks andshrew, worked a treat. One last favour though, could you tell me where the 'Auto-Start' option is in the remote play settings?

No problem. :) I assume you mean remote start? To turn that on you'd do:

Hold left for a few seconds to go all the way across the XMB, press right once and then down 13 times. Press X, down 3 times, X, down once and then X. If you want to enable remote start via the Internet press X, left, X then down and then X (otherwise just do down and X).
