Setting up remote printing and file sharing

I want to setup remote printing at home and don't really know where to start. Basically I have the PC upstairs connected to a USB printer (Canon MP470) and 2 laptops which connect via wireless.

Is it possible to set it up so that I can access the printer from the laptops? Also as a bonus I'd like to be able to backup the laptops to the PC across the network and to access the network shares.

Any pointers would be welcome.

Go to add printer, follow the wizard, and go through the networked printer part.

You can use software that will backup and restore from a network share, if you want to do a full system back up, in addition to just using the network as file storage.

I've got WD Backup which came with my WD Mybook will this work as a backup client on the remote laptops?
