I've been waiting for either the non-beta client to come out or for a way of running the client as a service before I switched over one of my X2 3800+ cores to run with the GPU client. Reading through the other thread here at the moment, theres a way of using the service, so I'm going to give it a go.

Firstly, what is the ppd difference of running my X1900XT 512Mb at stock 2D speeds compared with stock 3D speeds? I'm looking for a fairly quiet life here, so I don't what the whirlwind of a fan on the card going that high.

If I were to run at stock 2D speeds, what is the suggested voltage - 1.4? - and should I change the mem volts? Is ATi Tool the best thing for doing this, or is there a better way?

Thanks guys :)

On a side note, is there any news on future clients not requiring the VCore boost, as I would have thought quite a few people are dissuaded from using the client because of this?

Vcore boost? eh?

2D PPD @ 500/600 = about 550ish
3D PPD @ 625/725 = about 700ish

Voltages at 2D, get em as low as possible, but if your using the driver level 1.1V core is the min. 1.2V is stock 2D core, that should get you 550 or even 600mhz core if you wanna overclock. Mem voltage, just gotta play, all you have to do is keep both settings the same, Mem + Mem IO must be withing 2% of each other in an ideal world.

Use the latest ATi Tray Tools and read my guide at the top of the gfx forum.

Temps, anything up to 70C is fine.
