VPN end point is when you can initiate a VPN tunnel to somewhere else that supports VPN client or VPN end point, if that makes sense? You need this if your gonna want to host a VPN connection.
And yes, that router should have VPN end point
Unfortunately i don't know that router at all. I'm a Vigor man... and it's very easy on them,.. just set up a remote worker user account and tick the PPTP box.
with my DG384, all i did was setup VPN on the target machine (my fileserver) and forward the VPN port (1723) to that IP (check in firewall rules - there's already a preset rule for VPN passthough).
yes you need to enable incoming connections (VPN) in Network Connections. I would then assign a static IP to the machine, and set the rule in the router to forward traffic onto that IP.
