Setting up Windows with SDD

So i got my new system today with Windows 7 and a SSD installed.

Though im wonder hows best to set it up because with the SSD being small i assume youd want to install non major programs/games to a drive other than c:

Would you simply create a new folder in another drive called program files and simply redirect any installations to there or is there more to it like some settings or something in windows itself.

lol no worries there.

The main things i was going to install were the ones i use everyday like 3dmax, photoshop, after effects etc. The others i was going to put elsewhere.

Well its all up and running now, and i'm loving the SSD. Max, as suggested just flies compared to my previous rig. It used to take a fair little while to start up but not any more. Same with windows.
