I have a TP link W8910G wireless router. Heres the info

'The TP-Link 54M Wireless ADSL2+ Router TD-W8910G is a 3-in-1 device that combines the function of a high-speed DSL modem, wireless G access point, and 4-port Ethernet router. It supports the latest ADSL2/2+ standards to provide higher performance (up to 24Mbps downstream and 3.5Mbps upstream) and longer reach from your Internet Service Provider´ (ISP) Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM).
With the TD-W8910G, you can create a wireless network to connect 802.11g/802.11b'

I connect the line port to an ADSL splitter that goes to phone line, power it on and connect one of the RJ45 cables to my pc. I put in 192.168.1.1 in and access the router setup.
When it gets to the PPP username, password and service name do i just need to get the username and password correct? I have tried a few times entering the username and password and then restarting the browser (after waiting a few minutes) and it still doesnt find a connection.

Does the PPPoE Service Name need to be entered correctly? if so i have no idea what it is, so far ive just tried 'orange' and 'orange broadband'

Ok, jsut rang orange and have the username pass and service name. I now enter it and test and this is what it says. anyone know what this means?

Test your ENET(1-4) Connection: PASS
Test your Wireless Connection: PASS

Test the connection to your DSL service provider

Test ADSL Synchronization: PASS
Test ATM OAM F5 segment ping: FAIL
Test ATM OAM F5 end-to-end ping: FAIL

Test the connection to your Internet service provider

Test PPP server connection: FAIL
Test authentication with ISP: PASS
Test the assigned IP address: FAIL
Ping default gateway: FAIL
Ping primary Domain Name Server: PASS

I think where yours passes on this - Testing PPP server connectivity PASS - and mine fails is where its going wrong. Surely you must have to add a username and password to the router

Done

my wireless router may not pick up a signal but my wired does. Simple idea I had - just plug the wireless router into a port on the wired router. This means the adsl link is going through the wired router then into the wireless and out to wireless!

anyway, back on topic

its setup now. through the wired router. It says its an unsecured netword, is it possible to setep a username and password even though its connected through the other router?

There is a username and password on the wired router, that connects via RJ45 to the wireless router
